The Frailty of Memory
07:51
|
|||
Suffer not in silence,
for the voices fail to fade,
from southern coast to highlands,
where stronger men were made,
the ritual of tradition,
now carried out by few,
the heather, hills and rivers,
a scene for old and new,
Bonds torn asunder,
heraldry's defeat,
squabble in distraction,
from ruins at our feet,
the noose of betrayal tightens,
lessons are thwarted from sight,
but linger still does the knowledge,
of our ancestors' foresight,
The soldiers and the craftsmen,
the maidens and the wives,
maintained an ancient heartbeat,
that prolonged wiser lives,
the warriors of distant pasts,
whose blood still dwells with ours,
the carvings that tell of battle fears,
and foretell the power of stars,
Memory holds resilience,
Stone lives through the fray,
ancestors in their millions,
died not to be forgotten one day,
Rekindling of valour through idols,
Reemergence of strength through their deeds,
our forbears in memoriam,
who in honour's name fell to their knees.

Forebears
09:50
|
|||
For those who fought and came before us,
we must fight to preserve your names,
our common cause sings like a chorus,
to prevent extinguished flame.
Though wilting spirit still moves forward,
we shall never yield to shame,
the waves of strife yet still move shoreward,
in the seas of memory's grave.
Rekindled perserseverance,
native blood still dwells in soil,
the threat lies in forgetting,
our forefathers turmoils.
Ashes fade in time but voice remains to teach,
giving answers to the stories some still seek,
this yearning for connection outlives mortal eyes,
the simple thirst for knowledge resists the long demise,
we must educate as if their tongues are ours,
we must hold the sword as if we wield their power,
folly comes to be when kinsman fail to find,
the core of virtue, that lives in pasts behind,
Rekindled perserseverance,
native blood still dwells in soil,
the threat lies in forgetting,
our forefathers turmoils.
This purpose binds us,
until fate finds us,
Forbears live through us,
Knowledge renews us.
Redeeming name through resurrected spirit,
Removing blame by harbouring the crest,
Keep within you, the air of true antiquity,
Fail not to expose tales that are, dear to thee.
Live on,
elder ways, (x8)

Woodland Woes
07:18
|
|||
By means of fire, unnatural expansion,
condeming the seeds prohibits the oak,
the thoughts of our actions to us seem so finite,
the damning of elders, a cause to provoke.
Bastions of light, wither as time moves ever on,
pillars can crumble, diminishing mother nature's song,
furnace of yearning, truth lies in thought,
deteriorating the knowledge once sought,
woodlands ablaze in sorrow,
smoke filling skies far above,
the epitaph of tomorrow,
will contain words devoid of love,
Wanting growth from field to fauna,
flora rekindled once more...
elder beings are falling through the cracks,
of flame and of anguish,
the bond between son and steel,
carves the path and turns the wheel,
leading to bitter days,
Grandeur and Serenity,
are blessings to behold,
to those who seek renewal,
fortune favours the bold,
Pledge allegiance,
with all things that grow,
take the oath,
to plant and to sew,
form connection,
with cycles of change,
from warm fields and valleys
to the cold mountain range.

Who will we blame when there's nothing left,
When roots are severed, left to wither with the dirt.
When weathered walls true to form are long bereft of thought.
Memory salvaged, tales taught.
Structures speak of poignancy beyond their time,
Built on foundations of hardship and stern design,
The brittle truth that stone is often all that can remain,
The legacy of architecture forges undying fame.
Strong and unyelielding, am I,
Valiant and true, I shine,
Many can wonder, many can question,
how will I stand the test of time.
What will we worship when culture fails,
When years uncounted come to nothing, a disappearing dream,
If all that we have left to teach is modernity's ill will,
a painting of an age stood still,
A vital bond of man and Earth once ruled the day,
before dismal dissolution led those estray,
a building of the pyre, a forging of the steel,
committed union turning wheel,
Strong and unyelielding am I,
Valiant and true I shine,
Many can wonder many can question,
how will I stand the test of time.
The voice of withered stone,
The horn of heritage blown,
Roots of identity sewn,
speech through presence known.

Birthright
07:00
|
|||
Once formed and once claimed,
a seal to mark our name,
the binding of our forbears,
a bond to be tamed.
Through past eyes we see,
a stronger unity,
the birthright of the stranger,
unknown yet still to he.
Tales echo of the lust of revival,
whispers recount common cause of survival,
ownership of birthplace held in the stone,
a fabled message from the lands where they roamed,
What is just is the right to uphold,
sacred scriptures, of past lives foretold,
etched in rock are those deemed worthy of fame,
a proud and honoured folk we seek to regain.
An obligation from family ties,
procreation of historical binds,
condemnation of will left behind,
fight for oak and soil and claim your birthright.
Holding stories close to mind and to heart,
Guiding the aesthetic, preserving art,
From these gifts we see our birthright holds true,
To this day we have the right to pursue.

Declining in knowledge,
fading in skill,
losing ancestral, forsight of will,
the passing of history,
a yearning to wield,
from words then to actions,
from hill and to field,
The bonds that kept us committed,
were once strong and true,
Belief held so many,
regret held so few.
Then day came wh ere vow fell to pleasure,
and duty to bliss,
from fen and to heather,
we now reminiss.
Believing the relevance,
of past origins,
allow them to guide you,
from modern day sins,
Study the memories,
explore the words,
chapters of pages,
today go unheard,
Journey's unending,
fountains of truth,
banners held firmly,
of tradition's youth,
words from the elders,
fall on deaf ears,
on them falls the burden,
on them lays the fears,
Shame,
Innocence,
Blame,
Taken,
Hold,
Grasp,
the first lessons through lineage,
to the last.
Forget not,
the pride of our ways,
for exist do they still,
through sullen days,
the blooming of customs,
prevail evermore,
like cycles of passage,
through memory's door.

Sullen is the Spring
08:36
|
|||
Springtide,
births a revival,
a warming of fields and mires,
a time of recognition,
delusion in remission,
a blooming of inner desires,
the breeze holds a whisper,
passed down from the winter,
the words spoken softly from tongue,
they do not fear it,
the ones who now hear it,
for they lay in wait and unsung,
Awakening minds hold no boundaries,
discovering horizons beyond,
pale sun rise glistens above me,
ensuring the union of bonds,
Sullen is the spring,
gloomfully it sings,
symbolic devotion,
worn on it's wings,
From slumber I rise,
unveil my waking eyes,
grasping leaf and feather,
fallen from skies,
My inner spirit compels me to venture forth,
My journey's end is had when I can feel no more,
The equinox, a paradox of truth,
A timeless stir, from tallest branch to root,
offerings from nature,
gifts given not to misuse,
feeling chill fade into the past,
with renewed figure I
cast aside the binds
and transition forthwith, into the mortal world.
Sullen is the spring,
gloomfully it sings,
symbolic devotion,
worn on it's wings,
From slumber I rise,
unveil my waking eyes,
grasping leaf and feather,
fallen from skies,
Sullen is the spring,
Sullen is the spring,
Sullen is the spring,
Sullen is the spring,
Sullen is the spring.
